Barbados is one of the most well known and beautiful islands in the eastern Caribbean. It is part of the British Commonwealth and is named after the Bearded Fig Tree, which was once found in abundance.

Despite its French flavour, Martinique is classic Caribbean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it sits serenely between Dominica and St Lucia, and is every inch as beautiful and relaxed as its neighbours.
Fruit crops flourish in the rich volcanic soil surrounding Mt. Pelée. This semi-active volcano devastated former capital St Pierre in 1902 and a tour of the ruins is a fascinating day trip.

Half Dutch and half French, this island is a sun-worshipper’s dream. Browse all morning in Philipsburg’s gingerbread shops. Then laze in the lap of luxury at one of the island’s beach resorts.
